FOR THE LOVE OF CYCLING
It is all about love this month, so we asked a few GII Members why they love cycling:
Christy Fenner: I love cycling because I see the world in a whole new way, and the world sees a black woman in another space where representation is lacking. Cycling allows me to appreciate the beauty of nature in a way that takes me back to the freedom of childhood when running out of gas or a charge was never a worry. Bicycles run on food, water, and sometimes a good beer.
Harold Morgan: I love cycling because I didn’t discover who I was until I found it. I’m stronger mentally, physically, and emotionally, and it’s all due to those two wheels (on Madison, Skylar, and Casey).
Jeremy Norris: I love the competitive fire in the group rides that makes me push myself. I love riding with the homies and us pushing each other. Oh yeah, and the tailgates are lit!
Derek Gadson: I love the camaraderie!
Keesha Lisett: I love the freedom of riding and the sense of accomplishment when you do a challenging ride. I love the variety of people I meet and enjoy hanging out after the ride with like-minded people. It’s an awesome pastime, and the health benefits are endless.
Aura Man (Ian): My love for cycling started as a child. I always loved to see cyclists on the Tour De France. My first bike was a road bike. I didn’t know what I had. I love cycling now because of the health aspect of it and the loving and friendly people I have met over the years.
Why do you love cycling?
