GII Backyard Boogie 2023 Sponsorship Request

Who We Are

Getting it in Cyclists, Inc (GII) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in 2014. Our club is dedicated to educating people about the world of cycling, fitness, safe practices, and opportunities to join the sport for leisure or competitively. We address barriers to entry for minorities, youth, women, and other underrepresented groups in cycling. In addition, we do our part to help change the face of cycling by lobbying for bike facilities such as trails, bike lanes and for legislation that benefits bicyclists, including the Three-Foot Law and Vision Zero. GII is the largest diverse cycling club based in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area, with hundreds of members that span across the country.

About Our Event

This year, we are hosting our 2nd Annual three-day event called the GII Backyard Boogie from August 11-13, 2023. This event aims to broaden the reach of cycling beyond our neighborhoods through education, fun activities, fellowship, cycling rides between 22 and 100-miles, and bringing racing to those less familiar with all that cycling can offer. We are able to reach people of all ages, backgrounds, and cycling abilities through this fun, interactive event. At our inaugural event August 2022, we hosted over 250 guests plus 378 racers over the weekend.  Because it was such a success, we expect well over that number in 2023 and anticipate for it to grow annually.  For the 2023 event, we are adding more activities for children such as a children’s cycling clinic and kid’s ride on Friday and a family fun ride on Saturday.  In addition to that, we will continue with our Sunday activities such as our under 8-year-old kid’s race and junior’s races for kids between the ages 9- 18 years old. Visit the link to our 2022 recap Here.

Our Request

We are requesting that your company help support our event by providing a tax-deductible monetary donation to organize this exquisite event. As a non-profit organization, most of our work is handled by hard-working volunteers. Your contribution will go towards support and gear for the riders, race prizes, refuel stations, venue accommodations, police support, medical support, permits, cycling education, and more. We have seven levels of sponsorship options listed below. If you cannot support in a monetary method, we welcome contributions of product samples to hand out for prizes, raffles, or giveaways. Not only will you be supporting a great cause by donating, but most sponsorship levels will result in the listing of your logo in front of hundreds of people on the event's partner Banner, T-shirts, and our social media platforms which reach thousands of our followers.
